Deco M. Poser is APAB (Assigned Parasite at Birth) but identifies as a Symbiote. She is ready to shed the toxic relationship patterns she was socialized into and to finally get for herself what she was only ever able to experience through hosts in the past: a body of her own! There is just one problem. How do you start building yourself a body if you’ve never had one before? Where do you go to find out what kind of body you want, who do you ask for help, and what advice do you follow? And perhaps more importantly, how do you as a bodied individual give advice to such a creature? What makes a successful body in this world, if we are not necessarily bound by the human confines of bi-pedal mammalian life?
This show is an experimental hybrid of audience interactive game, theatre, and drag show. Over the course of the evening, we attempt to build a new body for Deco, using data gathered through game mechanics from the audience, and the sage advice given to us by our body experts: Christina Corpse, Brown Sugar Biscuit, and Miss Steak. Each of them has an important lesson for Deco to learn, be it about death, metamorphosis, or simply being that bitch. This evening promises riotous laughter, games, moments and acts to make you think, and a space for catharsis about our relationship to our own bodies.
